It's with Team X where Logan fell under the heavy influence and watchful eye of Dr. In the early '60s, Logan was recruited into a multi-national intelligence organization as a black ops agent for Team X. For years Logan bounced around as a mercenary, doing what he did best. Having disassociated himself psychologically with his past, he wasn't even aware of his powers or who he was, other than that his name was Logan. Unable to cope with what he'd done, his mind shut down creating his own amnesia and the young man fled into the wilderness, away from the civilized world.ĭecades later, having re-assimilated himself into society, Logan joined the Army and fought in World War I. Thomas Logan's son, aptly named Dog, eventually found Logan and, in the ensuing fight, Logan's first love, Rose was accidentally killed by his own deadly claws. But no change or location or name could help the young man escape his mutant abilities or his past. He fled with his only friend, Rose, to British Columbia, changed his name to Logan, and spent several years working hard labor. His claws extended from his hands, killing Thomas Logan. The sight of this malicious act triggered James' latent mutant powers. Thomas Logan, the Howlett's groundskeeper, shot and murdered James' father. He lived a rather mundane life until 1907, when his mutant powers first manifested. A lonely child of wealthy lineage, James had few friends growing up. If anything, he appeared like the slightest nudge would break him. History Born James Howlett in 1892, Wolverine was an unassuming boy and hardly the picture of a ferocious killer. The adamantium makes his bones virtually indestructible and adds a hefty hundred pounds to Wolverine's weight. Snikt!Īdamantium-laced bones:Not technically a power, Wolverine's bones are laced with adamantium, a unique and nearly indestructible substance. Bonded with adamantium (as they currently are), the claws are unbreakable and can cut through almost every substance known to man. When bone, the claws can be broken, but thanks to Wolverine's healing factor, the broken claw would regenerate. These six, foot-long claws (three on each hand) can pop out individually or all together. It was his healing factor that allowed Wolverine to survive the adamantium bonding process performed by the Weapon X project decades ago.Ĭlaws: Wolverine has retractable claws, housed in his forearms, as part of his natural skeletal structure. Wolverine is not, however, immortal and could die from a beheading or other such gruesome blow. Small cuts heal almost instantly and even "mortal" wounds will heal if given sufficient time. Wolverine's mutant healing factor allows him to heal almost any wound over time. Healing factor:If you cut him, does he not bleed? Yes, but he heals almost instantly. His hearing allows him to hear a greater range of sounds and to hear softer sounds from a much greater distance than a normal human. Coupled with tracking skills learned from years as a mercenary and military man, Wolverine can hunt down anyone if even the slightest trace of their scent remains. Perhaps the most apparent are his keen sense of smell and his acute hearing. All five of Wolverine's senses have been heightened. Wolverine has four powers:Įnhanced senses:If you've dealt it, he's smelt it. Powers Wolverine is a mutant who gained super-human powers during puberty, powers he retains to this very day.
